  • 1. What is the Chamber of Commerce?

    We are a 501(c)6 organization that works to promote and create a positive business climate and quality of life in our community. We facilitate community events, leadership programs for both youth and adults, education initiatives, business seminars and promotions, beautification projects, community marketing and promotion, and so much more. We are a membership-based organization and rely solely on event profits and the investment from our members to operate. Our Chamber was formed in 1917, making it the oldest business organization in Greenwood/Leflore County.



  • 2. What are some of the benefits of being a Chamber member?

  • 3. Can anyone become a member of the Chamber?

    Yes! Our membership consists of many different types of members, including both retired and working individuals, businesses, educational institutions, civic clubs and churches. Anyone wishing to support a stronger community is welcome to make an investment in our Chamber. 



  • 4. How can I become a member of the Chamber?

    Simply fill out this membership form, and we'll have our membership liaison call you personally to set up an appointment to tell you more about the Chamber and how you can become an active investor. 



  • 5. What does it cost to be a member of the Chamber?

    Supporting the Chamber is easy and affordable. For just pennies a day, you can support an organization that exists to make our community a better place to live, work and do business.

    We have various levels of membership to fit your needs. You can view these levels HERE. Each level comes with multiple benefits, many of which are priceless. Our membership specialist will be happy to explain the many benefits of each level if you are interested in membership. 



  • 6. What are some of the community events that are organized by the Chamber?

    We are proud to be the organizers of a number of community events. Some of our signature events are:

    • Chamber Annual Meeting/Business Expo/Taste of Greenwood (January/February)
    • Viking 1/2 Marathon (last Saturday in March)
    • YELL youth leadership program (September-April - for high school juniors)
    • Chamber Golf Scramble (early May)
    • Stars and Stripes Festival (late June/early July)
    • Bikes, Blues and Bayous (first Saturday in August)
    • 300 Oaks Road Races (3rd Saturday in September)
    • Driving the Delta Open Car Show (late October)
    • Holiday Open House (early November) 
    • AgFest (mid-November)
    • Roy Martin Delta Band Festival/Christmas Parade (first Friday in December)


  • 7. What types of payment plans are offered and can I pay my membership online?

    When you become a member, we will send you an exclusive password for your online member profile. You can update/change your information, pay your dues online, update your social media links, offer special deals and discounts for your business and so much more.

    Typically, our members pay annually, but we also offer monthly drafts/ACH payments, as well as quarterly payments.  For annual renewals, your due date is one year from the month that you join the chamber. 

    We can customize a payment plan that works for you.



  • 8. What sponsorship opportunities are available through the Chamber?

    We offer many different event sponsorships to fit every budget level. Sponsorship of chamber events is a great, highly-visible way to get your name out there in the community and beyond. Many of our Chamber events are recognized both throughout the state and the entire region. Sponsor benefits may include (but are not limited to) website and social media exposure, print and media advertising, 24-hour sign at the Chamber building, T-shirt logos and sponsor banners, verbal and signage recognition at events and so much more.

  • 9. Can I use the chamber's conference room to host my own meeting? Is there a fee?

    Chamber members enjoy exclusive use of the conference room at no extra charge. There is a $25 non-refundable cleanup fee for food/drink. 

    Non-chamber members can use the room for a $50 fee. 

    Booking in advance is required and is based upon availability. Members have booking preference over non-members.
